​ While dandelions are often seen as a key food source for bees, they are not the first blooms pollinators rely on. Many important early spring plants provide critical nectar and pollen before dandelions even appear. Learning to recognize these plants helps us better support bees when they need it most. Before the bright yellow of dandelions begins to cover lawns and roadsides, spring has already quietly arrived for many pollinators.
